Gallup Poll: Worldwide Corruption Index Philippines 64 out of 101

The Gallup organiztion came up wih number for a global corruption index of countries based on peoples perceptions in those ocuntries surveyed. Overall the general perception is places in Scandinavia like Finland ranked highest in the lowerst level of corruption in business and government and former soviet republics topped the list as where the corruption is felt by people as the most widespread.
The Philippines came in at the same place as India – and many other coutries:

Singapore scored the best in Asia with New Zealand coming close for the Asia-Pacific region at least as rated by people themselves ho live there or who interact there:
The Worst- perception wise:
Moldova, Ecuador, Latvia, Panama, Slovakia, Morocco, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Cameroon, Thailand, Lebanon, Poland, with Lithuania coming in last overall in a class by itself at 101.
the Philippines is tied with four other nations in the index coming in at 64 on the poll of 101 :
64: Turkey, India, Honduras, Nicaragua
The worst in ASEAN were Thailand and Indonesia coming much lower in the catagory Thailad making it to the bottom of the list. But Manila did beat out Italy, Israel, and, Pakistan.

The Gallup Corruption Index tracks the likelihood of populations around the globe to perceive widespread corruption in their government and businesses. Initial findings reveal that perceptions of corruption are prevalent in a majority of the 101 countries ranked. Index scores are significantly related to approval of leadership within a population, and to residents’ likelihood to be satisfied with their personal freedom. …” []
The countries included in the 2006 Index are ranked from the lowest score, indicating the population least likely to perceive corruption as widespread, to the highest.
