Democrats +12point overall in U.S. national public opinion polls…
There is a saying; most Republicans are proabably thinking about- "Be afraid… be very afraid." looking at new lowest ever poll numbers for President Bush at just 29% favorable.
Now after mostly equal views of both Politcal parties in December a press release of the Gallup Poll notes Dems have a lead across America in public opinion ratings.
But numbers this far off can go either way; expect a surge in effort by both sides in the days and weeks to try and recover 12 points recovery is not unheard of. But the Democrats will also be trying to push that figure even lower.

As recently as last December, Republicans and Democrats received similar favorable ratings from the U.S. public, but according to an April 28-30 USA Today/Gallup poll, the Democrats now have a 12-point advantage on this measure. This is mostly due to a decline in favorable views of the Republican Party, closely mirroring the downturn in public approval of President George W. Bush over the same period.
