Pinays among those ‘pimped’ to Dubai?

A few months back I attended a retirement party for a diplomatic law enforcement officer who has since returned to his home country. The man introduced me to a team of new law enforcers assigned here and we discussed a growing problem in the middle east.

The destination – Dubai – nothing new really the area is well known – but beware of many easy jobs being offered the reports say as there is growing resentment and Dubai authorities are less likely to considering the strict laws of the middle east- even in tolerant Dubai – accept the growing problem in their midst.

The foreign law enforcers all assigned to different embassies here- were amazed to have met up with so many – victimized – and trafficked persons in Dubai- the group is from more than one country.

But while the Manila times focuses on local women there is a virtual UN of women trafficked to the richest and fastest growing economy in the middle east.

However – it must be noted as was the case with Brunei; that tens of thousands of legitimate OFW jobs exist in UAE and the trafficking problem is only abuse of the hospitality of the area; which remains the middle easts most open, and like most centers of trade and commerce the oldest profession unfortunately is also growing alongside many of the other thriving industries and sectors there.

 [] …Warning from POEA
The POEA called on overseas job applicants to guard against recruiters who demand immediate cash payment, negotiate with clients in malls, restaurants, or other places instead of a POEA-licensed agency, and are unable to produce a job contract that would have to be processed by the POEA.

…  Philippine overseas labor officers have shown that there is a continuing flow of victims of ‘escort services’ from the sea, air and similar points of departure in the country who have been duped by promises of gainful but nonexistent jobs through the use of tourist or visit visas, or worse, even without the travel documents …
… []If a few years back it was the alleged ‘brunei beauty’ nd ‘japa-yuki’ trade – now it’s the Dubai ‘party girls’ trade or trafficking that has reportedly grown in huge numbers with the massive economic booms there.

Manila Times, Philippines – 51 minutes ago
They had been cleared by immigration personnel at their exit point in the Philippines and escorted by their recruiter to Hong Kong. … []

My Media City pals in Dubai conform that the nightlife of Dubai is indeed well known to have a thriving escorts service business.
