The Philippine Tabloid Tempo reports a massacre in Palawan ; just days after a UN declaration of the need to improve people caring for the welfare of marine life and ironically in motion sponsored by China – this:

[] …  Massacre in Palawan! One hundred of the island’s most precious coastal residents – the sea turtle – were found dead… TEMPO []

It would be interesting to see how the local PRC embassy reacts to this- with another attempt to just pay the fines and lettering off the people in question or by helping as the declaration of thier governments support to help protect and preserve the marine environment in of all places "The South China Sea" … to many poachers from the PRC oftenget off with a few days in Jail and are deported often without suffering penalties in their own countries and after causing much destruction and mayhem on the marine environment.

China could make a example in this case looking at the pictures of the dead turtles are clear evidence videos and photos shot in a steady roll as the coast guard came aboard the vessel in philippine waters. China has been trying to educate fisher-folk in the new laws of the world on protection of the seas and even expressed concern through the security council on growing problems of coral reef destruction.
Isn't that enough? and all this just for soup? If one looks at new ways some sectors are fighting for the rights of whales – and marine mamals – what of the poor turtles one of the seas oldest creatures.

Perhaps Asia's oldest Nation could lead by example in this case rather than just sweeping this mater- under the sea?
