Philippines:Ship Ladened with Sulfur sinks as Volcano spews sulfuric ash
Philippine Coast Guards of the Batangas District Coast Guard teams are assesing the damage to the area near the Port of Batangas City as ship which had earlier pulled into port for repairs sinks just offshore ater it suffered damage at sea.

At present time it is still unknown what caused the sinking the vessel is described as a "large barge" radio reports say the people in the area are worried over the effects of the spill – but if it was sulfur you smelled in the air it may not have been the 1,700 tons in the area off of the coast of Batangas.
The quake was reported near the time of the Ash emission – not quite a full blown eruption Government Volcanologists in the area reported..
