The officail word just in is the ASEAN summit has been moved to January:

[] “…It was the decision of the national organizing committee to postpone the summit rather than hold it in an atmosphere where it will have death and destruction along its path,” Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye said President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo agreed with the decision of the organizers to postpone the summit. adding – “It will go against the grain of the theme, ‘One Caring, One Sharing Community,” …” [] Report

Weather is the main reason for the cancelation:

But – some feel this was also a main concern.

[] “… US, UK, Australia warn of possible attacks during ASEAN summit
Jakarta Post, Indonesia – 6 hours ago
CEBU, Philippines (AP): The US, Britain and Australia warnedthat terrorists may be plotting attacks in the centralPhilippines, the site of next week’s summit    ” []

So … here comes another one the storm headed towards the Philippines it seems small for now but expecting heavy rain and more in the days ahead. Ironic it may seem to be headed towards the area where the summit will held and is being held per reports and forecast.

I wonder if it has accreditation otherwise it wont be able to get into Cebu. Anyhow – considering the all the security scenarios – I’m sure this possibility was looked at.

It is weird weather time for the world- a tornado just hit London – and of course there were a number of storms that hit across places where storms are rarely felt. So it looks like world weather patterns are changing in many places.

It has been a strange last couple of years for bad weather. Utor for now seems more or less a large tropical storm and is not classified as a typhoon. Or at least not yet. But it is all part of the stormy climate ASEAN is in right now – with – numerous issues and ideas being raised across the broad spectrum of trade and political issues.

We shall see what the looming storm cloulds bring anew…
