“Bandits” raid Mexican-US border patrol base in Arizona

January 6, 2007 at 1:22 am Leave a comment

It is one for the books – a group of Armed men raided a border patrol base manned by Arizona National Guard troops – they were forced to fall back and abandon the base after they were hit along the border hard by a well armed small raiding force.

It seems more like a story for 1907 than 2007 – but- reports say no one was hurt and the nationality of the men are believed to be of mexican or hispanic origin.

Amazing as it sounds if small well armed force can over run a small patrol base of the US border patrol manned by National Guardsmen – who are – US Army reservists then it seems a scary time on the US border considering all the attention paid to the situation there.

[] “… A U.S. Border Patrol entry Identification Team site was overrun Wednesday night along Arizona’s border with Mexico. According to the Border Patrol, an unknown number of gunmen attacked the site in the state’s West Desert Region around 11 p.m. The site is manned by National Guardsmen. Those guardsmen were forced to retreat. …”[]

Last week Mexico rushed federal troops to the Border towns where street gangs have taken over a major portion of the outlaying small towns. The multi-billion dollar drug cartels and smuggling operations that go on provide a source of revenue for the the armed thugs and organized crime elements on the border ‘badlands’.
