ASEAN SUMMIT: Health crisis fund to fight outbreaks
As at least three members of ASEAN have been battling problems with major health concerns. At the core are issues such as ‘bird flu’.
At the regional summit meeting Cebu, ASEAN, as group is discussing ways to deal with a more intergovernmental cooperation within ASEAN alongside efforts of the World Health organization and international health care companies and HMO providers.
A major concern are health issues like the Avian flu crisis that is gripping ASEAN countries Indonesia, Vietnam, and, as reports say Thailand-Burma-Cambodia are feared to be less prepared. Other regional countries like the Philippines and Malaysia who have better health care ability, Manila for example is major center of the WHO and its work in fighting the outbreaks have been within limited resources innovative as shown with the hurdling of the SARS crisis of 2003.
